Scott) for damages sustained by reason of loss of clothing picked up and destroyed by the Division of Refuse ollectzon add Disposal. ~-iE ~REAS, on or about ~fay 7, 1950, the Division of Refuse gollection and Dis- posal, by mistake, picked up and destroyed various itemS of wearing apparel belong- ing to cia.trent; and t~}I~.EAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency in that in order to save the ~ty from litigation, up-uecessary expense and possible additional obligations, it a uthormzes the in~nediate settlement and adjustment of said claim and provides for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, BE IT O~DA~{ED BY THE ~0U>~CIL OF %~JE CITY OF LAt~¥fOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That settlenent of %he claim of Josephine Scott, also knc~vn as ~frs. John L. Scott, of 1322 Edanola Avenue, Lakewoed, Ohio, for the s~m of Seventy- Five Dollars (<~15.00) is hereby authorized and directed, conditioned upon execution ~d delivery by Josephine Scott of a full release in favor of the ~ity of Iakewood, duly approved by the Director of Law. Section 2. That the Director of Finance be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay the sum of Seventy-five Dollars ($7~.00) to Josephine Scott upon. deli- very to him of the foregoing release duly approved and executed ~nd to Charge the same to the General Fund - Da~mages Paid by the Sity. Section 3.
