<br /> AN F.~.GENOY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with
<br />The Detroit-Warren Betterment Association, Ino. to terminate the lease dated October
<br />30, 1946.

<br /> I~gEREA$, this ordinance cor~titutes an emergency in that this Council has
<br />heretofore informally approved the termination herein authorized which requires i~-
<br />mediate action and in that it provides for the public welfare and safety and the
<br />usual daily operation of a ~unicipal department, now, therefore,
<br />

<br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to
<br />enter into an agreement with The Detroit-Warren Betterment Association, Xnce read-

<br />wood, a antnieipal corporation hereinafter called Lessor and The Detroit-
<br />Warren Betterment Association, Inc., an Ohio corporation, hereinafter
<br />called Lessee,

<br /> WITNES SETN~
<br />
<br /> ~HEREAS, by written lease dated October 30, 1946, the Lessor leased
<br />to Lessee premises located easterly of and extending along the easterly
<br />line of Victoria Avenue appro-tmately 211.21 feet as more specifically
<br />described in said lease, for a term of three years beginning November 1,
<br />1946 and en_~!ng October 31, 19495 and
<br />
<br /> WHEP~EAS, the Lessor and Lessee renewed said lease for the term be-
<br />ginning November 1, 1949 and ending October 31, 1~525 and
<br />
<br /> · HEREAS, the parties desire to cancel and terminate said lease as of
<br />June 1, 1~15
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the Lessor and Lessee mut~ally agree to cancel and:
<br />terminate said lease as of June 1, 19~15 the Lessee agrees to s~rrender
<br />and deliver up said premises to Lessor as of June 1, 19~1, and waives re-
<br />fund of any rentals heretofore paid$ and Lessor releases Lessee from ~
<br />further payment cf rentals and all other obligations under said lease, as
<br />renewed, for and during the remainder of the renewal term beginning June
<br />19~1 and ending October 31, Xg~

<br /> Section 2e This ordinance ia hereby declared to be an emergency measure for
<br />the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and, provided it receives the affirmative
<br />vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be
<br />in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor?
