ORDINANCE NO. 4768 BY Mr. Quinn AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION VI of Ordinance No. 4310 , adopted by the Council of the City of Lakewood, April 2, 1945, approved by the Mayor April 3, 1945, as amended by Ordinance No. 4497, adopted July 21, 1947, approved July 22, 1947, and as amended by Ordinance No. 4567, adopted June 21, 1948, approved June 22, 1948. WHEREAS, Lakewood Rapid Transit, Inc., an Ohio corporation, has for more than thirteen years last past operated motor coaches in the City of Lakewood and to and from the City of Cleveland, Ohio, under Ordinance No. 3674 and amend- ments thereto; and ~HEREAS, for the convenience of the citizens of the City of Lakewood, the continuation of transportation of passengers for ~t~e as provided under said Ordinance No. 4310 and ameuSments thereto and under the terms and condi- tions as hereinafter provided ia desirable; and WHEREAS, under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of Article ][VIII of the Constitu- tion of Ohio, municipalities have the right to enter into contracts by Ordinance for the service of public utilities; NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD: SECTION I That Section VI of Ordinance No, 4310 adopted April 2, 1945, as amended, and reading: "SECTION VI Fares Fares covering one continuOus ride between any point on the routes herein specified, or as hereafter established between the termini in Lakewood and the termini in the City of Cleveland, Ohio, and reverse, shall be as follows: KIND OF FARE Ticket or Token o.o.o..o. ....... ....ooo.o.o.o...o...~ A~0UNT OR RATE OF FARE 6 for$1,OO Wholly within the City of Lakewood on ar~ reute herein described ..ooo....o..o.~ooo..~...~..o.e Children under 6 years of age accompanied by an adult on ar~ route herein described .....,....o Policemen and Firemen of the City of Lakewood, when in uniform and wearing official badge on a~y route herein described ...,..............-.
