AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE transferring from the General Fund to the Police Relief and Pension Fund the sum of ten thousand four hundred ten dollars (110,410.00). WHEREAS, Revised Code Section 741.40 provides that in the event moneys to the credit of the Police Relief and Pension Fund are not sufficient to meet current relief and pension payments, the legisla- tive authority may appropriate from the General Fund to the Police Relief and Pension Fund sufficient money to meet such payments; and WHEREAS, Revised Code Section 5705.14 provides that no transfers shall be made from one fund to another except as provided therein, among which provisions are that "Moneys appropriated therefor may be transferred from the General Fund *** to a fund authorized by Revised Code Section 5705.1Jd; and Fund , and moneys to be transferred from the General have been appropriated for such purposes; WHEREAS, the as herein provided, WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency for the reasons that moneys to the credit of the Police Relief and Pension Fund are not sufficient to meet current relief and pension payments and mis- cellaneous expenditures necessitating action forthwith in authorizing and providing for the transfers herein authorized in order to meet payments currently about to become due; and in that it provides for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, STATE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE WOOD, OF OHIO: Section 1. That there shall be and is hereby transferred from the General Fund Appropriation Item J267-A to the Police Relief and Pension Fund the sum of ten thousand four hundred ten dollars ('10,410.); and the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to make such records, cause such transfer, and to do and perform any and all other acts and things necessary in order to carry out the purpose and intent of this ordinance. Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and, provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor.
