Ward, Chockley, <br /> Fahrenbach, Fairgrieve, <br /> Gaydos, Gottermeyer <br /> <br /> AN E~RGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the payment of the sum of <br />$16,656.40 to The Kalill Co. for repairs to a sewer on Halstead Avenue. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, On or about June 2, 1958, a portion of the sanitary <br />sewer in Halstead Avenue collapsed, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Immediate attention thereto was mandatory, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The exigencies of the situation demanded ~hat a sewer <br />contractor be immediately hired for the purpose of repairing such <br />sewer, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, A delay, which of necessity would have been occasioned <br />by compliance with the statutory bidding requirements, would have been <br />dangerous to the health and safety of the citizens of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency in that it <br />provides for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, <br />health or safety and provides for the usual daily operation of a <br />municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That payment be made to The Kalill Co. in the amount <br />of $16,656.40 for the repairing of a sewer in Halstead Avenue. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby <br />directed to pay the sum of $16,656.40 to The Kalill Co. for repairs to <br />the sewer on Halstead Avenue, and that the said sum be charged to the <br />Sewer Construction and Improvement Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hersof, and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: July 21, 1958 <br /> <br />Approved:.
