copy <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 71-58 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. <br /> <br />Gottermeyer, Lawther, <br />Ward, Chockley, <br />Fahrenbach, Gaydos. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing employment of a fiscal agent <br />in connection with the financing of off-street parking facilities at <br />the Warren-St. Charles area. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, An emergency exists in that traffic congestion on the <br />streets and highways of the City of Lakewood has reached such a point <br />as to require, in the Judgment of Council, the establishment, construc- <br />tion and operation of municipal off-street parking facilities for motor <br />vehicles and the enactment of this ordinance is necessary for the im- <br />mediate preservation of the public safety, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, as Director of Public Works, be and <br />he is hereby authorized to engage the Wm. J. Mericka & Co., Inc. as a <br />fiscal agent or financial consultant in connection with the sale of <br />"additional bonds" under Ordinance No. 72-53, the proceeds of which <br />shall be used to acquire land and to improve it for off-street parking <br />facilities in the Warren-St. Charles area, and that the fees of such <br />consultant shall be paid out of the proceeds of the sale of such bonds. <br /> <br /> Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the' preamble hereof, and provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected <br />to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: August 8, 1958 <br /> <br />Appreved:..August 8, 1958 <br /> <br />Thomas C,~, Ward <br /> President <br /> <br />H,.
