WHEREAS, This ordimance constitutes an emergency im that it may save the City from fmrther expemse amd costly litigatiem in that it provides for the immediate settlememt of said claim, amd im that it provides for the ~mmediate preservation ef the pmblic peace, property, health er safety, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Sectiom 1. That the settlememt of the claim ef Helem E. Butte im the amemnt efeme hmmdred forty ome dollars amd thirty-five ce~ts, is hereby ordered amd authorized, cemditioned upom the exeeutlom and delivery by Melon E. Butte efa fall release in favor of the City ef Lakewoed, duly approved by the Director of Law. Section 2. That the Director ef Finance be amd he is hereby authorized te pay the smm of one humdred forty eme dollars amd thirty- five cemts te Nelem E. Butte, upon delivery to the Director of Fimamce of the foregoing release duly executed and approved; amd to charge ~he same to the General Fund - Damages Paid by the City. Section 3. This ordinamce is hereby declared to be an emer- gency measure for the reasems stated ia the preamble hereof, and pro- vided it receives the affirmative veto of two-thirds of all members elected te Cemmcil, it shall take effect a~d be im force immediately mpen its adeptiem a~d approval by the Mayor.
