ORDINANCE NO. 24-59 BY: Messrs. W~rd, Fahrenbach, Gaydos, Gottermeyer, Lawther. AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE creating the position and fixing the compensation of the Civil Defense Coordinator beginning May l, 1959, and providing compensation for a part time clerk in the office ef such coordinator, and repealing Ordinance No. 18-59, adopted April 20, 1959, and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith. WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency in that the continued efficient organization and operation of civil defense is for the public welfare and safety, and in that this ordinance provides for the msual daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, OHIO: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF Section 1. a) That the position of Civil Defense Coordinator is hereby created; that such coordinator shall be appointed by the ~yo~,~ ~nd be.employed for not to exceed eigh~ months per annum; that e snal± receive compensation ~t the rate of $150.00 per month, not to exceed a total of $1200.00 in any one calendar year b) SUCh Civil Defense Coordinator is hereby authorized to hire a part time clerk to work in the office of the coordinator at a total compensation not to exceed the s~m of $50.00 per month. The compensation of the Civil Defense Coordinator and the part time clerk shall be payable semi-monthly from such funds as may be appropriated therefor. Secti~ 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to he an emer- gencylmeasure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof, and pro- vided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and he in force May l, 1959, and Ordinance No. 18-59, adopted April 20, 1959, shall be and is hereby repealed effective May l, 1959.
