Ab AMENDED <br />October 4, 1965 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 60-65 BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. Huffman, Usher, <br /> Ward, Wendling, <br /> Bennett, Cain, <br /> Gaydos. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to enact new Section 907.09 <br />of the General Offenses Code of the Codified Ordinances of <br />the Cit~ of Lakewood relating to false information giv~ to <br />public officials and other persons in charge of locations <br />where groups of persons assemble and to repeal existing <br />Section 937.04 of the General Offenses Code of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency <br />measure providing for the immediate preservation of the <br />public peace and safety and for the usual daily operation <br />of a municiRal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHI0: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the General Offenses Code of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood be and the same <br />is hereby supplemented by enacting a new Section 907.09 to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 907.09 False Information, call or report. <br /> <br />No person shall knowingly give or assist in giving <br />any false or fictitious information, call, or re- <br />port to any police officer, sheriff, fire depart- <br />ment official, or any other law enforcement officer, <br />or to any person dispatching or operating an ambu- <br />lance or any other emergency vehicle with intent to <br />mislead, misdirect or improperly summon said officer <br />or person, nor shall any person knowingly give false <br />or fictitious information, call, or report to any <br />school official or other person in charge of loca- <br />tions where groups of persons assemble when the <br />nature of such false or fictitious information, call <br />or report results in law enforcement action. <br /> <br />Whoever violates this section shall be fined not more <br />than Fifty Dollars ($50.00), nor less than ten dol- <br />lars <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared to <br />be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the pre- <br />amble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members elected tb Council it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and ap- <br />proval by the Mayor, and existing Section 937.04 of the <br />General Offenses Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City <br />of Lakewood, enacted by Ordinance No. 1626, passed August <br />2, 1920, shall be and is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted:.~.October 4, 1965 <br /> <br />Approved~:.October 13, 1965 <br /> <br />John Gaydos, Jr. <br /> President <br /> <br />.....
