ORDINANCE NO. 54-67 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Gaydos, Huffman, Kelley, <br /> Usher, Ward, Wendling <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 133.053 of the Administrativ~ <br /> <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to payment <br />on account of uniforms for members of the Divisions of Fire and Police. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the i~nediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the <br />usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE CF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Section 133.053 of the Administrative Code of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading as follows: <br /> <br />Section 133.053 Payment on Account of Uniforms. <br /> <br />In addition to the furnishing of the personal equipment mentioned in <br />Section 133.052, the Director of Finance is authorized and directed <br />to pay from the General Fund Appropriation Nos. 4138 - Clothing, and <br />4438 - Clothing, the sum of $112.50 querter-annually to every active <br />member of the Division of Fire and Police, as a uniform allowance. <br />Such sum of $112.50 shall be payable on March 31, 1962 to every <br />member of the Division of Fire and Police on active duty as of such <br />date~ and a like sum shall be paid to each sctive member of the <br />Division of Fire and Police at the end of each succeeding quarter- <br />annual period thereafter. To each new and active member of the <br />Division of Fire and Police after September 30, 1963, the Director <br />of Fine, ce is authorized and directed to pay upen the written request <br />of said new member a'sum not to exceed $225.00 as an advance upon the <br />annual uniform allowance of such member. Any funds so advanced shall <br />be deducted from the next regularly occuring uniform allowance which <br />such member is entitled to receive until the entire amount of the <br />advance has been paid. Should any member leave said Division before <br />the amount of uniform allowance so advanced is due him, then he shall <br />immediately return such unearned allowance to the Department of <br />Finance. <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />In addition to the furnishing of the personal equipment mentioned in <br />Section 133.052, the Director of Finance is authorized and directed <br />to pay from the General Fund Appropriation Nos. 4138 - Clothing, and <br />4438 - Clothing, the sum of $75.00 semi-annually to every active <br />member of the Division of Fire and Police as a uniform allowance. <br />Such sum of $75.00 shall be payable on September 30, 1967 to every <br />member of the Division of Fire and Police on active duty as of such <br />date, and a like sum shall be paid to each active member of the <br />Division of Fire and Police at the end of each succeeding semi- <br />annual period thereafter. To each new and active member of the <br />Division of Fire and Police after adoption of this ordinance the <br />Director of Finance is authorized and directed to pay upon the <br />written request of said new member, a sum not to exceed $225.00 <br />as an advance upon the annual uniform all~,ance of such member. <br />Any funds so advanced shall be deducted from the next regularly <br />occuring uniform allowance which such member is entitled to re- <br />ceive, until the entire amount of the advance has been paid. <br />Should any member leave said Division before the amount of uniform <br />allowance so advanced is due him, then he ~hall immediately return <br />such unearned allowance to the Department of Finance. <br /> <br /> <br />
