PLEASE SUBSTITUTE FOR COPY 02' Ordinance 56-67 supplied with Docket of October 2,1967 ORDINANCE NO. 56-67 BY: AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to supplement the Traffic Code of the codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood~ Ohio, by enacting new Sections 775.01 to 775.04 relating to the operation of motorcycles. ~THEREAS~ This ordinance constitutes an emergency measure provmding for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and for the immediate preservation of the put~lic safety and welfare; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Traffic Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood be and the same is hereby supplemented by enacting new Sections 775.01 to 775.04, inclusive, to read as follows: Section 775.01 Motorcycle, defined "Motorcycle" means every motor vehicle other than a tractor having a saddle for the use of the operator and designed to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground, including, but not limited to, motor vehicles known as "motor-driven cycle," "motor bicycle,""motor scooter," "bicycle with motor attached~" or "motorcycle" without regard to weight or brake horsepower. Scection 775°.02 gxhaust Eq(uipment Every motorcycle with an internal combustion engine shall at all times be equipped wlth a muffler which is in good working order and in co~]stant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise~ and no person shall use a muffler Cutout, by-pass,or similar device upon a motorcycle within the City of Lakewood. Every motorcycle muffler shall be equipped with baffle .plates. No person shall own~ operate~ or have in his possession any motorcycle equipped with a device for producing excessive smoke or gas~ or so equipped as to permit oil or any other chemical to flow into or upon the exhaust pipe or muffler of such motorcycle, or equipped in any other way to produce or emit smoke or dangerous or annoying gases from any portion of such motorcycle, other than the ordinary gases emitted by the exhaust of an internal combustion engine under normal operation.
