Huffman, Kelley, Usher: Wendling, Gaydos, Graber AN E~RGENC¥ ORDINANCE authorizing settlement of the claim of Matilda Hahn, not n~arried, in the total amount of Three Hundre~ Dollars ($300.00)~ arising out of an accident when she fell on the public sidewalk in front of 15721 Clifton Boulevard in the City of Lakewood Ohio on January 6~ 1963. ' ' WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency in that it may save the City from further expense and a possible substantial jury verdict rendered against the City and in that it provides for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That settlement of the claim of Matilda Hahn, in the amount of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00), is hereby ordered and authorized, conditioned upon the execution and delivery by Matilda Hahn of a full release in favor of the City of Lakewood, duly approved by the Director of Law. Section 2. That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby authorized to pay the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) to Matilda Hahn, upon delivery to the Director of Finance of the foregoing release duly executed and approved~ and to charge the same to the General Fund - Damages paid by the City. Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor.
