ORDINANCE NO. 2.69 BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. Huffman, Kelley, Usher, <br /> Ward, Wendling, Gaydos <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY O~iNANCE giving consent of the City of Lakewood <br /> to Participation with the Director of Highways of the State of <br /> Ohio and the National Safety Council in providing reports for <br /> a Highway Safety Program Analysis and proposing to cooperate <br /> with the said Director in certain matters incident thereto. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, to aid in the preparation of statewide and local safety <br />programs necessary to meet the requirements of the Federal Highway <br />Act of 1966, the Director of Highways of the State of Ohio, <br />hereinafter referred to as the STATE, has executed an agreement <br />with the National Safety Council for a Highway Safety Program <br />Analysis based on reports aubmitted by cities, and specific <br />recommendations to each city, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Lakewood, hereinafter referred <br />to as the CITY, desires to participate in securing the necessary <br />information for the analysis which will be used in preparing the <br />City's safety program; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. It is declared to be in the public interest that the <br />CITY participate in the completion and submission of the necessary <br />report forms furnished by the National Safety Council for study <br />by the National Safety Council in preparation of the Analysis, <br />twenty (20) copies of the completed Analysis to be furnished to <br />the cITY. <br /> <br />Section 2. The CITY agrees to contribute the sum of $350.00 and <br />to deposit this amount with the STATE, on request by the STATE, for <br />the preparation of the Analysis, and in addition to fill out and <br />submit the~eport forms furnished by the National Safety Council. <br /> <br />Section 3. The Mayor is hereby empowered and directed on behalf <br />of the CITY to enter into such agreements as are necessary to carry <br />forward the intent and purpose of this ordinance and to .appoint a <br />project coordinator who will cooperate with the STATE and the <br />National Safety Council to provide data that will be appropriate <br />and necessary for this program. <br /> <br />Section 4. The Clerk of Council is hereby directed to furnish the <br />STATE with a certified copy of this ordinance immediately upon the <br />taking effect thereof, and upon the acceptance and approval of said <br />ordinance by the STATE, it shall become a binding agreement on the <br />CITY and STATE. <br /> <br />SeCtion 5. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure by reason of the need for promoting public safety, and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the <br />members elected to the Council it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: January 6~ 1969 <br /> <br />Robert E. ~endl~n~ <br /> President <br /> <br />Grace Reynolds <br /> <br />Cle rk <br /> <br />Approved:January 6, 1969 <br /> <br />Robert M.
