ORDINANCE NO. 15-70 BY: Messrs. Kelley, Usher, Ward, Gaydos, Graber, Huffman AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing settlement of the claim of Clara Monateri, a widow, not remarried, in the total amount of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00), arising out of an accident when she fell on a sidewalk at 1440 Belle Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, on February 15, 1962. WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency in that it may save the City from further expense and a possible substantial jury verdict rendered against the City and in that it provides for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That Settlement of the claim of Clara Monateri, a widow, not remarried, in the amount of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars' ($250.00) is hereby ordered and authorized, conditioned upon the execution and delivery by Clara Monateri, a widow, not remarried, of a full release in favor of the city of LakeWood, duly approved by the Director of Law. Section 2. That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby authorized to pay the sum of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) to Clara Monateri, a widow, not remarried, upon delivery to the Director of Finance of the foregoing release duly executed and approved; and to charge the same to the general fund - damages paid bY the City. Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption an~pproval by the Mayor.
