Kelley, Usher, Ward, <br /> Wendling, Gaydos, Grhbcr, ttuffman <br /> <br />AN EblI';R(iI:iNCY ORDINANCI'; fixing the compensation of the Clerk, directing <br />the ti_me and method of payment.-of the other employees of the Lakewood <br />Municipal Court and repealiug'Ordinance Noo 4-70 adopted February 2, 1970. <br />WIIEREAS, The Municipal Court Act, Revised Code Sections 1901.1 to 1901.38, <br />inclusive, effective October 1.~ 1953, fixed the compensation of thc Judge, <br />provided that the compensationlof.the Bailiff and Deputy Bailiffs shall <br />be as prescribed by the Court, and that the compensation of the Deputy <br />Clerks shall be prescribed by the Clerk, and, <br />WltEREAS, Said Act further provides that the compensation of the Judge, <br />Cleric and Bailiff shall be paid three-fifths from the City Treasury and <br />two-fifths 'from the Treasury of the County in which the city.'is located, <br />and, <br /> WtlEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency measUre providing for the <br /> usual daily operation, of a municipal department in that in the interest of <br /> public service, welfare and safety, it is necessary to fix the compensatiou <br /> of the Clerk and direct the time and method of payment of the other employees <br /> of the Lakewood Muncipal Court; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT ORDAIN~ BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF L~EWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the compensation of the Clerk of the Lakewood Municipal <br /> Court is hereby fixed at $14,177 per annum comencing February 7, 1971. <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood is hereby <br /> authorized and directed to pay three-fifths of the compensation of the <br /> Judge, three-fifths of the compensation of the Clerk as herein fixed, three- <br /> fifths of the compensation of the Bailiff and all compensation of the .Deputy <br /> Bailiffs as shall be prescribed by the Judge, all compensation of the Deputy <br /> Clerks as shall be preScribed by the Clerk, from the City Treasury in semi- <br /> monthly installments or in equal installments every two weeks. <br /> Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br /> for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br /> affimative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br /> take effect and be in force imediately upon its adoption and approval <br /> by the Mayor and Ordinance No. 4-70, adopted February 2, 1970, and all <br /> other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith, shall be and <br /> are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Pre s id~ent / <br /> <br />~~Cl. erk <br /> Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
