<br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 351.17 of the Traffic 'Code
<br />of the Codified Ordinances of ihe City of Lakewood relating to parking of
<br />commercial vehicles and recreational equipment in the City of Lakewood.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to its police power, this~Council has the power to
<br />provide for the health, safety and welfare of its citizens, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this Council determines that it is in the best interest of the
<br />City to regulate the parking of commercial vehicles and recreational equipment
<br />within the City of Lakewood, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for
<br />the immediate preservation of the public health', safety and welfare and for the
<br />usual daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY oF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That Section 351.17 of the Traffic Code of the Codified
<br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading as follows:
<br />
<br />Section 351.17 Parking commercial vehicles
<br />
<br />No person shall park'a school bus, commercial tractor, agricultural
<br />tractor, truck, bus, a vehicle originally manufactured and/or
<br />designed as a bus, trailer, semi trailer, p~le trailer, moving van,
<br />ambulance or hearse, or a vehicle originally manufactured and/or
<br />designed as an ambulance or hearse, for a p~riod in excess of one
<br />hour on any street at any time within the City, except when loading
<br />or unloading .such ~vehicle.

<br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

<br />S~ction 351.17 Parking commercial vehicles and recreational equipment
<br />
<br />a)
<br />
<br />No per.son Shall park a school bus, commercial tractor,, agricultural
<br />tractor, truck, bus, a vehicle originally manufactured and/or
<br />designed as a bus, trailer,, semi trailer, pole trailer, moving van,
<br />ambulance or hearse, or a vehicle originally manufactured and/or
<br />designed as an ambulance or hearse, ~ther than. recreational equipment
<br />as defined in Section 1126.01 of the Zoning Code of the City,for
<br />a period in excess of one hour on any street at any time within the
<br />City, except when loading or unloading such vehicle.

<br />b)
<br />
<br />No person shall park recreational equipment as defined in Section
<br />1126.01 of the Zoning Code of the City on any street or highway
<br />within the City 'fora period in excess of six (6) consecutive
<br />hours.
<br />
<br /> Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency
<br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives
<br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected' to Council it shall
<br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the
<br />Mayor., and existing Sect%on 351.17 adopted September 2t, 1970 is hereby repealed.
