ORDINANCE NO. 79-73 BY: Messrs. Sinagra, Usher, Werner, <br /> <br /> ~ Brockman, Graber, Magnotto, McBride <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINAN~ determining the compensation of the Judge <br /> of the Lakewood Municipal Court commencing November 16, 1973. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Amended Section 1901.11 of the Ohio Revised Code, <br />establishing the compensation of Judges, was duly amended July 27 1973 <br />and became effective November 16, 1973, and ' <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the present compensation of the Judge of the Lakewood <br />Municipal Court is less than the amount authorized and directed to be paid <br />in accordance with the aforementioned Section 1901 11; to wit, $30,000 per <br />annum, and ' <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the general election held November 6, 1973, SectiOns <br />1, 4, 5~& 6 of Article VI of the Constitution of the State of Ohio were duly <br />amended by the vote of the people, by virtue of which the compensation to be <br />paid the Judge of the Lakewood Municipal Court came within the purview of the <br />Ohio Revised Code Section 1901.11, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The City of Lakewood is required by Section 1901oll of the <br />Ohio Revised Code to pay three-fifths of the compensation of the Judge of the <br />Lakewood Municipal Court and the County of Cuyahoga is required to pay the <br />remaining two-fifths of the salary of said Judge, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the compensation of the Judge of the Lakewood <br />Municipal Court is hereby determined to be and established at $30,000 per <br />annum, effective November 16, 1973. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood <br />is hereby authorized and directed to pay three-fifths of the compensation of <br />the Judge as required by law frcm the City treasury, in semi-monthly install- <br />ments or in equal installments every two weeks. <br /> <br />Approved :~~ / ~/ 'q 7~ <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />Re affi~tive vote Of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force imediately upon its adoption and appr~al by the <br />Mayor; and Ordinance No. 28-70, adopted July 6 1970 shall be and the same is <br />hereby repealed.
