ORDINANCE NO. 9-74 BY: Messrs. McBride, Sinagra, Usher, Brockman, Chinnock, Graber, Magnotto AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Paragraph (a) of Section 313.01 of the Traffic Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to through highways in the City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, both highways from which motorists enter North Marginal Road and South Marginal Road are through highways upon which the prima-facie lawful speed is 35 miles per hour, and WHEREAS, in the interest of highway safety and enforcement, the prima-£acie speed limit on the aforementioned Marginal Roads should be identical to the prima-facie speed limit for the access roads, and WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, and for the further reason that both Marginal Roads should be designated as through highways to establish a 35 mile per hour prima-facie speed limit at the earliest possible time; now therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That Paragraph (a) of Section 313.01 of the Traffic Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: 313.01 THROUGH HIGHWAYS (a) Ail state routes and all sections of streets on which are operated motor coaches or buses for carrying passenger, s for hire along a fixed or regular route under authority granted by the City of Lakewood, and the following named streets and parts of streets: Franklin Boulevard from Warren Road east t9 Highland Avenue; Hilliard Road, Riverside Drive from Detroit Avenue south to the City of Cleveland; Delaware Avenue; and Lakewood Heights Boulevard from Woodward Avenue east to Berea Road; are hereby designated as through highways provided that stop signs shall be erected by the Director of Public Safety at all intersec- tions with such through highways excepting those intersections otherwise designated hereinafter as stop intersections; provided, however, that where two or more through highways intersect and no traffic control signal is-in operation stop signs shall be erected at one or more entrances thereto by the Director of Public Safety. be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: 313.01 THROUGH HIGHWAYS (a) Ail state routes and'all sections of streets on which are operated motor coaches or buses for carrying passengers for hire along a fixed or regula~ route under authority granted by the City of Lakewood, and the following named streets and parts of streets: Franklin Boulevard from Warren Road east to West ll7th Street; Milliard Road; Riverside D~ive from Detroit Avenue south to the City of Cleveland; Delaware Avenue; Lakewood Heights Boulevard from Berea Road west to Woodward Avenue; North Marginal Road; and South Marginal Road;
