Sinagra, Usher, Brockman, <br /> Chinnock, Graber, Magnotto, McBride, <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 149~05 of thc Administrative <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of bakewood relating to overtime <br />in emergency situations for full-time permanent hourly employees. <br /> <br /> WtIEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OIIIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. T~at Section 149.05 of the Administrative Code of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: <br /> <br />Section 149.05 OVERTIME IN EbH~RGF. NCY SITUATIONS <br /> <br />~I7l~at an }~ourly employee who is required by his s,,~perior to return <br />to work after tile completion of his regular working l~ours, or ~o <br />come to work on a day on which he is not otherwise required to <br />work, sbali be compensated for at least two (2) hours work computed <br />at the overtime rate of pay. <br /> <br />be and tile same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />S~ction 149.05 OVERTIME IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />A full-time permanent hourly employee wl~o is required by his <br />superior to return to work after tl~c completion of his regular <br />working hours, or to come to work on a day on which he is not <br />othervzise required to work, shall be compensated a minimum of <br />four (4) hours work computed at the overtime rate of pay. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Whcneve~r a full-time permanent hourly employee shall be notified <br />personally by his division head that ]lc is required to be on <br />stand-by duty for t]~e City, suc}~ employee shall be compensated <br />in an amount equal to two (2) hours ~regular time pay for such <br />stand-by duty, which compensation s}~all be in addition to any <br />compensation earned by such employee for actual time worked as <br />a result of being called to duty. <br /> <br /> Section 2. Tl~at this ordinance :[.s l~creby decl. ared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated £n the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon ~s adoption and approval by tl~e <br />Mayor, and existing Section 149.05 adopted ~[rc~18, 1968 s~l~bc and the s~me <br />~S hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> ~ President <br /> <br /> <br />
