ORDINANCE NO. 36-74 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Magnotto, McBride, Sinagra, <br /> Usher, Brockm~n, Chinmock, Graber <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to enact new Section 331.50 of the Traffic <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood establishing a full <br />time and attention requirement in the operation of motor vehicles. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to its police power, the City of Lakewood has the <br />power to provide for the safety and welfare of its citizens, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council determines that it is in the best interest of <br />the City to establish a full time and attention requirement in the operation <br />of a motor vehicle and to provide for a penalty for violation thereof, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the <br />usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Traffic Code of the Codified Ordinances of the <br />City of Lakewood be and the same is hereby supplemented by enacting new Section <br />331.50 to read as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 331.50 FULL TIME AND ATTENTION <br /> <br />No person, while operating a motor vehicle, shall fail to <br />give full time and attention to the operation of same so as to cause <br />injury to the person or property of another. <br /> <br />Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br /> Section 2.
