ORDINANCE NO. 38-75 <br /> <br />BY: Me.ssrs. McBride, Sinagra, Usher, <br /> Brockman, Chinnock, Graber, Magnotto <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to prohibit a right turn on red at certain <br />intersections within the City effective July 1, 1975. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, effective July 1, 1975 vehicular traffic facing a steady <br />red traffic signal may enter the intersection with caution to make a right <br />turn after stopping, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to aUthority of Section 313.03 (c) (4) of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City, Council may, by ordinance, prohibit a right <br />turn against a steady red signal at any intersection, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 4 of Amended House <br />Bill No. 99, local authorities may prohibit right turns on red between the <br />hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 pomo Monday through Friday at intersections used <br />by a substantial number of school children and determined to be a hazard to <br />such school children, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergenny measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that the prohibition of right turns should be made effective <br />at the earliest time provided by law, to wit, July 1, 1975; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Section 313.03 (c) (4) <br />of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, a right turn against a steady <br />red signal is hereby prohibited at all times at the following intersections: <br /> <br />Lake Avenue <br />1. Cdve Avenue (east) .................. south and west bound <br />2. Cove Avenue (west) .................. north and east bound <br /> <br />Clifton Boulevard <br /> <br /> 1. West ll7th Street ................... south and east bound <br /> 2. West Clifton Boulevard .............. north bound <br /> 3. Clifton Road ........................ all four directions <br /> <br />Detroit Avenue <br /> <br />1. West ll7th Street ................... south and east bound <br />2. Nicholson Avenue .................... south and west bound <br />3. Bunts Road .......................... east bound only <br />4. Warren Road ......................... all four directions <br />5. Cook Avenue ......................... south and west bound <br />6. Victoria Avenue ..................... north and east bound <br /> <br />Franklin Boulevard <br /> <br /> 1. Warren Road ......................... north bound only <br /> <br />Hilliard Boulevard <br /> 1. Madison Avenue ...................... all four directions <br /> 2. Riverside Drive ..................... north and south bound <br /> <br />Madison Avenue <br /> 1. Warren Road ......................... all four directions <br /> 2.
