ORDINANCE NO. 12-76 <br /> <br />BY:Messrs. Chinnock, Magnotto, McBride, <br /> Salmon, Sinagra, Usher, Brockman <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to prohibit a right turn on red at certain <br />intersections within the City, and to repeal Ordinance 61-75 adopted November <br />3, 1975. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to authority of Section 313.03 (c) (4) of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City, Council may, by ordinance, prohibit a right <br />turn against a steady red signal at any intersection, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 4 of Amended Uouse <br />Bill No. 99, passed June 5, 1974 and effective July 1, 1975, local authorities <br />may prohibit right turns on red between the hourslof 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. <br />Monday through Friday at intersections determined to be used by a substantial <br />number of school children and to be a hazard to such school children, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that the prohibition of right right turns should bm made effective <br />at the earliest time provided by law; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE coUNcIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Section 313.03 (c) (4) <br />of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, a right turn against a steady <br />red signal is hereby prohibited at all times at the following intersections upon <br />the posting and installation of the proper signs giving notice theraof: <br /> <br />Lake Avenue <br /> <br />1. Cove Avenue (east) .................... south and west bound <br />2. Cove Avenue (west) .................... north and east bound <br /> <br />Clifton Boulevard <br /> <br />1. West ll7th Street ..................... south and east bound <br />2. West Clifton Boulevard ................ north bound <br />3. Clifton Road .......................... all four directions <br /> <br />Detroit Avenue <br /> <br />1. West ll7th Street ..................... south and east bound <br />2. Nicholson Avenue ...................... south and west bound <br />3. Bunts Road ............................ east bound only <br />4. Warren Road ........................... all four directions <br />5. Cook Avenue ........................... south and west bound <br />6. Victoria Avenue ....................... north and east bound <br />7. Manor Park ................... · ......... south bound only <br />8. Arthur Avenue ......................... north bound only <br /> <br />Franklin Boulevard <br /> <br />1. Warren Road ........................... north bound only <br /> <br />Hilliard Boulevard <br /> <br />1. Madison Avenue ......................... all four directions <br />2.
