Bowen & Associates, Architects, <br />to provide professional architectnral services ~n the remodeling of Fire Station <br />No. 1 located on Warren Road in the C~ty of l,nkewood, which services sl~all ~nciude <br />preparation of contstruction drawings, contract documents and specifications. <br /> <br /> WIIEREAS, th~s Council has determined that, ratiner than to construct a <br />new Fire Station within the C|.ty at this t~me, it wo,~]d be in the best interest <br />the City to remode! Fire Shation No. 1 situated on Warren Road ~n the City of <br />and <br /> <br /> WIU?,REAS, this Cmmci] further determines that the remodeling of this <br />safety facility should be accomplished at the earliest possible time in the best <br />interest of the citizens of the City of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WIHiREAS, this Council further determines that it is necessary to empl. oy <br />the services of an architect in regard to the remodeling of said Fire Station No. 1, <br />and <br /> <br /> WI[EREAS, t'his Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for thc <br />usual daily operation of a municipal department and for the immediate preservatiou <br />of the public safety and welfare in that there should be no de]ay in the remodeling <br />of Fire Station No. 1; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY TIlE COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF I&KEWOOD, STATE OF O]{IO: . <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Publ. ic Works be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to employ by .contract the architectural firm of Ricbarci <br />I,. Bowen & Associates, Architects, 1312& Shaker Square, Cleveland, Ohio 4/4120, as <br />the professional, architect for the purpose of prepnring construction drawings, <br />contract documeuts and specifications for the remodeling; of Fire Station No. [ <br />situated on Warren Road in the City of l,akewood, including converting the Chic, f's <br />office into a day room, the generator room into a kitchen and tim west apparat,ls <br />bay into a dining room. Said contract shall be based upon the proposal submitted <br />by the said Richard L. Bowen & Associates, Architects, dated April 22, 1976, <br />designated Project No..RI,B No. 01309PF, and shall provide for a fee to be computed <br />in accordance with said proposal. <br /> <br /> Section 2. Thnt this ordinance is h~,reby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, J.t shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Cleric <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
