ORDINANCE~NO. 59-76 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Brockman, Chinnock, <br /> Magnotto, Salmon, Sinagra, Usher <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Director of Public Safety to <br />enter into a contract wi'th Great Lakes Diesel Company to purchase <br />one diesel engine for a Ladder Truck for the Division of Fire. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the diesel engine of the 1954 Ladder Truck used by the Division <br />of Fire has deteriorated, causing said truck to be inoperable, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Great Lakes Diesel Company, 1'0391Brecksville Road, Brecksville, <br />Ohio, is willing to furnish a new diesel engine for the price of $7,950 <br />to include installation, radiator recore if required and radiator shutter, <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 735.O51 the legislative authority <br />· of a municipal corporation may, by a two-thirds vote, contract for tbe <br />purchase of equipment without formal bidding and advertising in the case <br />of a real emergency arising in connection with the operation and main- <br />tenance of the Department of Public Safety, and' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a real and present emergency exists in the usual daily operation <br />'of the Division of Fire of the City of Lakewood in that said ladder truck <br />is immediately available to carry on emergency fire protection without <br />the delay of awaiting a delivery time and it is immediately necessary <br />to enter into a contract for the aforesaid equipment for the immediate <br />preservation of the public health, safety and welfare; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Director of Public Safety is hereby authorized and <br />directed to enter into a contract with Great Lakes Diesel Company to <br />purchase a new diesel engine for an amount not to exceed $7,950. <br /> <br />Section 2. Fbat there is hereby appropriated from the Federal Revenue <br />Sharing Fund an amount not to exceed $7,950 to be paid as the price for <br />said diesel engine. <br /> <br />Adopted:%~-~z~ z/~ /~7~ <br /> <br />Approve'd:.~..x~c~/'~ / ~ /~)~ <br /> <br />Section 3.
