Cb~nnocl<, Magnotto, McBride, <br />Salmon, S{nagra, Usher, Brockman <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 135.09 of the Administrative. <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to payment on <br />account of uniforms for members of the Division of Police. <br /> <br /> WUEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the usual <br />daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THF. COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Section 135.09 of the Administrative Code of the <br />Cod£fied Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: <br /> <br />Section 135.09 UNIFORM ALLOWANCE <br /> <br /> In addition to the furnishing of the personal equipment mentioned <br />in Section 135.08 (b), the Director of Finance is authorized and <br />directed to pay from the General Fund, Account No. 0192031 - Uniform,~ <br />the sum of One Hundred Thirty-seven and 50/.100 Dollars ($137.50) semi- <br />annually to every active member of ~the Division of Police as a uniform <br />allowance. Such sum of One Hundred Thirty-seven and 50/100 Dollars <br />($137.50) shall be payable on March 31., 1973, to every member of the <br />Division of Police on active duty as of such date, and a like sum <br />shall be paid to each active member of the Division of Police at <br />the end of each succeeding semi-annual period thereafter. To each <br />new active member of the Division of Police, the Director of Finance <br />is authorized and directed to pay upon the written request of such <br />new member, a sum not to exceed Two tlur~dred Twenty-five Dollars <br />($225.00) as an advance upon the annu~l ,niform allowance of such <br />membei. Any funds, so advanced shall be deducted from the next regular <br />occurrfng uniform allowance such member is entitled to receive, until <br />the entire amount of the advance has been paid. Should any member <br />leave the Division before the amount of uniform allowance so advanced <br />is due him, then he shall immediately return such unearned allowance <br />to the Department of Finance. A new member of the Division who <br />commences his employment on a date which fal.~.s between determination <br />dates as set forth here~.n shall receive a portion of uniform allow- <br />ance pror~ted da:~].y from date of employment.
