ORDINANCE NO. 65-76 BY: Messrs. Cb~nnocl<, Magnotto, McBride, Salmon, S{nagra, Usher, Brockman AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 135.09 of the Administrative. Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to payment on account of uniforms for members of the Division of Police. WUEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THF. COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That Section 135.09 of the Administrative Code of the Cod£fied Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: Section 135.09 UNIFORM ALLOWANCE In addition to the furnishing of the personal equipment mentioned in Section 135.08 (b), the Director of Finance is authorized and directed to pay from the General Fund, Account No. 0192031 - Uniform,~ the sum of One Hundred Thirty-seven and 50/.100 Dollars ($137.50) semi- annually to every active member of ~the Division of Police as a uniform allowance. Such sum of One Hundred Thirty-seven and 50/100 Dollars ($137.50) shall be payable on March 31., 1973, to every member of the Division of Police on active duty as of such date, and a like sum shall be paid to each active member of the Division of Police at the end of each succeeding semi-annual period thereafter. To each new active member of the Division of Police, the Director of Finance is authorized and directed to pay upon the written request of such new member, a sum not to exceed Two tlur~dred Twenty-five Dollars ($225.00) as an advance upon the annu~l ,niform allowance of such membei. Any funds, so advanced shall be deducted from the next regular occurrfng uniform allowance such member is entitled to receive, until the entire amount of the advance has been paid. Should any member leave the Division before the amount of uniform allowance so advanced is due him, then he shall immediately return such unearned allowance to the Department of Finance. A new member of the Division who commences his employment on a date which fal.~.s between determination dates as set forth here~.n shall receive a portion of uniform allow- ance pror~ted da:~].y from date of employment.
