ORI)INANCE NO. 16-78 BY: AN EMERGENCY ()RDINANCE to amend Sec. tion 149.15 of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to payment by the City of certain sums toward employee hospitalization coverage co,m~encing .April 2_2, 1978. WI[EREAS, ~his Council determines it to 1)c in the best :interest of the City to provide for continued participation in the medical and hospitalization protection plans of City employees, and WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of municipal departments; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY TIlE COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OllIO: Section 1. That Section 149.1.5 of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: 149.15 CITY'S StlARE OF [IOSPiTALIZATION 1NSUR3YNCE (a) For the purposes of this section, City employees shall be defined as employees of Lakewood Municipal Court and the City of Lakewood who have completed sixty days of continuous service, but shall, exclude members of Council, employees of Lakewood Hospital, temporary employees, seasonal employees, school guards, public works inspectors, and members of the Civil Service Commission. (b) The Director of Finance is hereby auLhorized to pay from City funds the actual premium cost of hospitalization coverage for each member of the Division of Police and the Division of Fire who is enrolled in the City's hospitalization plan currently in effect. (c) (d) The Director of Finance is here'by authorized to pay from City funds the actual premium rate of hospitalization coverage for all other City employees, payable monthly or semi-annually at the discretion of the Director of Finance, by payment of such premium to the insurer , or in cash based on actual premium rate, where the employee is not enrolled in the City hospital- ization plan. Such paYment by the City shall be made from the following Funds at the rates designated: (1) Waste Water Treatment Plant (2) Alii.
