ORI)INANCE NO. 16-78 BY: <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ()RDINANCE to amend Sec. tion 149.15 of the Administrative Code <br />of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to payment by <br />the City of certain sums toward employee hospitalization coverage co,m~encing <br />.April 2_2, 1978. <br /> <br />WI[EREAS, ~his Council determines it to 1)c in the best :interest of the City <br />to provide for continued participation in the medical and hospitalization <br />protection plans of City employees, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the <br />usual daily operation of municipal departments; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY TIlE COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OllIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That Section 149.1.5 of the Administrative Code of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: <br /> <br />149.15 CITY'S StlARE OF [IOSPiTALIZATION 1NSUR3YNCE <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />For the purposes of this section, City employees shall be <br />defined as employees of Lakewood Municipal Court and the <br />City of Lakewood who have completed sixty days of continuous <br />service, but shall, exclude members of Council, employees <br />of Lakewood Hospital, temporary employees, seasonal employees, <br />school guards, public works inspectors, and members of the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />The Director of Finance is hereby auLhorized to pay from <br />City funds the actual premium cost of hospitalization coverage <br />for each member of the Division of Police and the Division <br />of Fire who is enrolled in the City's hospitalization plan <br />currently in effect. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />The Director of Finance is here'by authorized to pay from <br />City funds the actual premium rate of hospitalization coverage <br />for all other City employees, payable monthly or semi-annually <br />at the discretion of the Director of Finance, by payment of <br />such premium to the insurer , or in cash based on actual premium <br />rate, where the employee is not enrolled in the City hospital- <br />ization plan. <br /> <br />Such paYment by the City shall be made from the following Funds <br />at the rates designated: <br /> <br />(1) Waste Water Treatment Plant <br />(2) Alii. Grant programs where such cost <br /> ~s included in Grant <br />(3) Street Construction, Maintenance and <br /> Repair Fmtd <br /> Water Fund <br />(5) Parking Facilities Fund <br />(6) General Fund <br /> <br />Actual Cost <br /> <br />9.6% * <br />5.6% * <br />3.3% * <br />81.5' * <br /> <br />* Percent of the balance after actual cost items. <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as t'o].l, ows: <br /> <br />149.15 CITY'S SI[ARE OF IIOSPiTALtZATION INSURANCE <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />For thc imrposes of this section, City employees shalI be <br />defined as employees of Lakewood Municipal Court and the <br />City of Lakewood who have completed sixty days of continuous <br />scrvl(-e, lint shall, excl.~dc members of Cotm(:il, employees of <br />l.akewood tiospita], temlmt'ary employees, seasonal emt) loyees, <br />scl~ool guards, public works inspectors, and members of the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br /> <br /> <br />
