Brown, Chinnock, <br /> Magnotto, Salmon, Brockman <br /> <br /> AN I~H'~{Gt'~CY OIN)INANCE to amend Section 149.]_2 of the A~hninistrative <br />Cow]e of the C~xii. ficd Ordinances of the City of Lakew~ relating to sick <br />leave for annual salaried employees. <br /> <br /> X~tI!XRI';AS, this ordinance constitutes ~m emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY ~-~ COUNCIL OF ~[E CITY OF LAKEW@, STATE <br />OF OtIIO: <br /> <br /> Sect.ion 1. ~mt Section 149.12 of the Ar~Mnistrati. ve O>de of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follo~vS: <br /> <br />149.12 SICK t,EAVE ~OR' ANNUAL SALARIED t~IPLO~YiES <br /> <br />Each annual salaried ~nployee, except members of the Division <br />of Police ~md Fire, shall be granted sick leave for the same <br />remsons and to the same effect as provided in Section 149.11 <br />with respect to full-time permanent ho~ly employees, as such <br />section may be amended from time to time. <br /> <br />be and the sa~ is hereby amended to read ,ms follows: <br /> <br />149.12 SICK I~VE FOR /LNNUAL SALARIED t~LOYEES AND CFRTAIN <br /> HOURLY I~LOYEES <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Each annual salaried e~>loyoe except ~bers of the <br />Division of Police ~d Fire ~d each full-tin~ pe~ent <br />hourly ~ployee who is not covered by a ~llective <br />Bargaining Agre~nt with the City, who has comp].et~ <br />his probationary period, shall be entitled to sick <br />leave on acco~mt of illness or in.jury incapacitatin~ <br />him fr~ work, without loss of re,tatar pay, vacation, <br />seniority or other rights or privileges in an ~t <br />not to exce~ the following: Effective Janua~ 1, <br />1978 each ~ployee shall r~eive one and on,half <br />(1~) days credited sick leave ~d thereafter shall <br />earn one ~d on,half (1~) days per mnth beginning <br />with Febma~ 1, 1978, not to exce~ eighteen (18) <br />calendar days ~r ye~. <br /> <br />Sick leave accrued prior to Jamua~ 1, 1978 shall be <br />taken into acco~z in con~>~ting the sick leave <br />acc~lation ~d convers:on benefit of said e~loyee <br />p~'su~t to Section 149. 111 of this Code. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Sick leave benefits provident for herein shall be sub.jeer <br />to, and governed by, Paragraphs (a)(ii), (b) and (c) of <br />Section 149.11 of this Code. <br /> <br /> Section 2. ~t~is ordinance is hereby dec]ared to be an er~.~rgency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the pre~m~b].e hereof and provided it receives <br />the .affirmative vote of twc~thirds of all men~)ers elect~l to Council, J't <br />shall t~e effect ~d be in force Jmnediately upon its adoption and approval <br />by the Mayor; othemvise it shall take effect a~ the earliest pcri(~ <br />allowod by law, anct existing Section 149.12, ~opted Ju'l.y 16, 1962 shall . / <br />be~ ~d the s~m~ is hereby r~pealed. .. ~~~/ ~~ <br /> <br /> <br />
