ORDINANCE NO. 80-78 BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. Brockman, Brown, Chinnock, <br />Magnotto, McBride, Salmon <br />Mrs. Wend|ing <br /> <br /> AN E~ENCYORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Director <br />of Public Works to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the <br />lowest and best bidder after approval by C~3uncil for the insta].lation of <br />a new air supply system and improvement of the ventilation for the Lakewood <br />Police Department Pistol 'Range. <br /> <br /> Wt~, this Council h~s determined that in accordance with <br />previous engineering study recomnendations, a new air supply and ventilation <br />system should be in,tailed in the Lakewood Police Department Pistol Range, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has authorized the prepara$ion of <br />c6nstruction drawings, plans and specifications by the firm of Menster, <br />McHenry&Associates, Inc., and <br /> <br /> %~{EREAS, the aforementioned construction drawings, plans and <br />specifications are now on file in the Engineer's office, and <br /> <br /> WtIEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an ~nergency mem~ure <br />providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and <br />for the irm~diate preservation of the public safety and welfare in that <br />tests conducted by the Ohio Department of Health disclosed ~msafe lead <br />concentration exposure in the pistol range, and that the ventilation <br />improvement and air supply system should be installed at the earliest <br />possible time for the safety of those using the range; now, therefore,- <br /> <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ~VCO), STATE <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is <br />hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids and enter into a <br />contract with the lowest and best bidder after advertisement according to <br />la~ and after approval by Council for the installation of a new air <br />supply system and ventilation improvement of the Lakewood Police Department <br />Pistol Range. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the cost' of such construction is esti~ated <br />at $40,600.00, which funds are to be made available from the 1978 Federal <br />Revenue Sharing Funds. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby delcared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the prean~le hereof and provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br />Council, it shall take e~fect m~d be in force imnediately upon its adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor; otherwise it'shall take effect and be in force <br />from and after the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br /> <br />
