ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />31 -79 <br /> <br />BY: Wendling, Brown, Chinnock, <br /> Magnotto, McBride, Salmon <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE fixing the compensation of the Probation Officer <br />of the Lakewood Municipal Court and the time and method oF payment thereof and <br />repealing Section 1 of Ordinance No. 23-78 adopted March 6, 1978. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Municipal Court Act, Revised Code Section 1901.33, provides <br />that the legislative authority of a municipality shall fix the compensation <br />of a probation officer appointed by the Judge of a Mu'nicipa] Court, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ord'nance constitutes an emergency measure providin9 for <br />the usual daily operation of a municipal department in that in the interest <br />of public service, welfare and safety, it is necessary to fix the compensa- <br />tion of the said probation officer and direct the time and method of payment <br />thereof; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the compensation of the probation officer of the <br />Lakewood Municipal Court. is hereby fixed at Eleven Thousand Five Hundred <br />Fifty-Six Dollars ($11,556.00) per annum effective March 1, 1979. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood is <br />hereby authorized and directed to pay said compensation of the probation <br />officer as herein fixed, from the City Treasury in semi-monthly installments <br />or in equal insta.llnlents every two weeks. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it re- <br />ceives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, <br />it shall take effect and be in force immediate'ly upon its adoption and <br />approval by the .Mayor, and Section 1 of Ordinance No. 23-78 adopted March 6, <br />1978 and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith <br />shall be and are hereby repealed.
