ORDINANCE NO. 55-79 <br /> <br />BYt;endli.ng, Brown, Chinnock, <br /> McNally, Salmon <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the City Engineer to employ, <br />by contract, the firm of Dalton, Dalton, NewOort, Inc. as consulting <br />architects and engineers for various projects and tasks in the City on a <br />continuing basis. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has determined that there are possible <br />benefits in work efficiency, overall costs and added performance incentive <br />by contracting with a single firm for most of the City's architectural and <br />engineering consulting work on a continuing basis, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council is of the opinion that the proposal of the <br />firm of Dalton, Dalton, Newport, Inc. is the most desirable of all <br />proposals received for such services, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council deems it to be in the best interests of <br />the City to employ the architectural firm of Dalton, Dalton, Newport, Inc. <br /> on a continuing basis, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and for the immediate <br />preservation of the public safety and welfare; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the City Engineer be and he. is hereby authorized <br />and directed to enter into a contract with the architectural firm of Dalton, <br />Dalton, Newport, Inc. 3605 Warrensville Center Road, Cleveland, Ohio <br />as consulting architects and engineers for various projects and tasks in the <br />City of Lakewood on a continuing basis, said contract to be substantially <br />in the form as set forth in Exhibit A attached, hereto, and made a part <br />hereof as though fully rewritten herein. <br /> <br /> Section 2, The cost of such architectural and engineering services <br />shall be charged against the various accounts under which various projects <br />and tasks are implemented. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor; otherwise it shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted <br /> <br />Approved~<.. <br /> <br /> <br />
