ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />78.79 <br /> <br />BY: Chinnock, McBride, McNally, <br /> Salmon, Wendling, Brockman, Brov <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing <br />the Mayor to enter into a contract with Clyde E. Williams <br />and Associates, Inc. to provide professional engineering ser- <br />vices relating to the improvement of traffic signalization <br />and to conduct an analysis of traffic patterns generated on <br />Interstate 90. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood desires to improve the <br />traffic signal, devices of approximately seventy-five (75) <br />intersections on Madison Avenue, Hilliard-Franklin Avenue, <br />Detroit Avenue and Lake Avenue within the City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City desires to obtain an analysis of the <br />traffic generated on Interstate 90 entering the City from <br />the south and traveling along local streets in order to <br />determine possible traffic engineering solutions to any <br />unusual traffic problems being created thereby, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency <br />measure providing for the immediate preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare and for the usual daily <br />operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized <br />and directed to enter into a contract with Clyde E. Williams <br />and Associates, Inc., 3620 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio. to <br />provide engineering services to improve traffic signalization <br />on Madison, Hilliard-Franklin, Detroit and Lake Avenues in <br />the City and to conduct an analysis of traffic patterns <br />generated in the City by Interstate 90. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Finance Director be and he is <br />hereby authorized and directed to charge $21,500 of the <br />contract cost to the 1979 Community Development Block Grant <br />fund and to charge $8,500 of the contract cost to the State <br />Highway Improvement fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to <br />be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble <br />hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds of-all members elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval <br />by -the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: ~~. ~/F~ //~ . . <br /> <br /> Clerk <br /> <br />Approved: ~/i ~,/~ 7~ ' <br /> <br /> <br />
