ORDINANCE NO. 87-79 BY:McBride, McNally, Salmon, Wendling, Brockman, Brown, Chinnock AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to supplement Part Fifteen-Fire Protection Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood by enacting new Chapter 1501 adopting the Ohio Fire Code. WHEREAS, the Ohioized BOCA Basic Fire Code (modified by the Fire Marshall to meet Ohio's particular needs) is collectively known as the Ohio Fire Code (OFC) and is published in Division 1301:7 of the Ohio Administrative Code, and and WHEREAS, OFC was filed October 30, 1978, to be effective July 1, 1979, WHEREAS, certain remedial action has been taken by the Ohio Fire Marshal to correct initial errors in the adoption of House Bill 590 and said Fire Code is now ready for adoption, and WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and for the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. (a) Pursuant to Ohio R.C. 731.231, there is hereby adopted by the City, the Ohio Fire Code (OFC) as adopted by the Ohio Division of State Fire Marshal, Department of Commerce, effective July 1, 1979, and as published in Division 1301:7 of the Ohio Administrative Code (OAC).
