ORDINANCE NO. 23-80 <br /> <br />BY: Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling, <br /> Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE fixing the compensation of the Probation <br />Officer of the Lakewood Municipal Court and the time and method <br />of payment thereof and repealing Section 1 of Ordinance No. <br />31-79 adopted March 1, 1979. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Municipal Court Act, Revised Code Section 1901.33 <br />provides that the legislative authority of a municipality shall <br />fix the compensation of a probation officer appointed by the <br />Judge of a Municipal Court, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure provid- <br />ing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department in <br />that in the interest of public service, welfare and safety, it <br />is necessary to fix the compensation of the said probation <br />officer and direct the time and method of payment thereof; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the compensation of the probation officer of the <br />Lakewood Municipal Court is hereby fixed at Thirteen Thousand <br />Two Hundred Dollars ($13,200.00) per annum effective March 9, <br />1980. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood <br />is hereby authorized and directed to pay said compensation of'-the <br />probation officer as herein fixed, from the City Treasury in sem.i- <br />monthly installments or in equal installments every two weeks. <br /> <br />Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof <br />and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor, and <br />Section 1 of Ordinance No. 31~79 adopted March 1, 1979 and all <br />other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith <br />shall be and are.hereby repealed. <br /> <br />App roved: ~.~2, / ~?~:~6~ <br /> <br /> <br />
