ORDINANCE NO. 27-80 BY: Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling, Brown AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizlng and directing the Mayor to enter into an Option Agreement with James and Marcia Pfaff to purchase real property located at 1355 Sloane Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio. WHEREAS, this Council authorized the purchase of this property for the purpose of establishing a municipal park contingent on the approval of the City of Lakewood's 1980 Community Development Block Grant Application by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development~ WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and for the imme- diate preservation of the public safety and welfare; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an option agreement with James and Marcia Pfaff to purchase real property located at 1355 Sloane Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, said option agree- ment to be substantially in the form as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully rewritten herein. Adopted: Section 2. That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby ~uthorized and directed to pay to James and Marcia Pfaff the sum of one dollar (~1~00) ~! in consideration of the grant of this exclusive option to the City of L~wood'~ ............. Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise it shall take effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
