ORDINANCE NO. 71-80 <br /> <br />BY Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling, <br /> Brown <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the City Engineer to advertise <br />for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder for the <br />installation of new storm relief sewers on Thrush, Lark and Quail Streets <br />in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council has determined that in accordance with previous <br />engineering studies conducted by the firm of Watermation, Incorporated, new <br />storm relief sewers are needed on Thrush, Lark and Quail Streets in order to <br />relieve the extensive basement flooding on these streets, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has authorized the preparation of construction <br />drawings and specifications by the firm of Watermation, Incorporated, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the aforementioned construction drawings and specifications <br />are now on file in the City Engineer's office, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and for the immediate <br />preservation of the public safety and welfare; now, therefore <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized <br />and directed to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest <br />and best bidder after advertisement according to law for the installation of <br />new storm relief sewers on Thrush, Lark and Quail Streets in the City of <br />Lakewood. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the cost of such construction is estimated at <br />$381,000, which funds are to be made available from the Community Development <br />Block Grant Funds. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor; otherwise it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period <br />allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Approved:~~ ~/ /~) <br /> <br /> <br />
