ORDINANCE NO. 15- 81 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, <br /> Graham, McBride, <br /> Wendling <br /> <br />Gallagher, <br />Salmon, <br /> <br /> AN ~RG~NCY ORDIN~kNCE to amend Paragraph (c) of Section 1°~5.09 of <br />the Adm3_nmstr~tive Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood to <br />provide for the furnishing of uniforn~ for matrons and communication oPerators <br />employed ill the Division of Police. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, natrons and conmunication operators working in the Division <br />of Police ,are required by the nature of their position to wear uniforms, smd <br /> <br /> %~ ,REAS, mn lieu of a uniform allowance, this Council deems it <br />app~mpriate that a suitable unifom be furnished to matrons and cormamlcation <br />operators by the Division of Police, and <br /> <br /> ~HEEEAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency msnsure providing <br />for the inrnediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the <br />usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF ~HE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br /> Section 1, ~hat Paragraph (c) of Section 135.09 of the Administrative <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: <br /> <br />135.09 UNIFOt{M Al J OWANCE. <br /> <br /> (c) A suitable uniform shall be furnished to each police cadet <br /> by the Division of Police in lieu of a uniform allowance. <br /> <br />shall be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 135.09 IiNIFOP~q .kLLOWANCE. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />A sumtable unmform shall be furnished to each police <br />cadet, matron and corammication operator by the Division <br />of Police mn lieu of a uniform allowance. <br /> <br /> Sectmon 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Councml concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were <br />adopted mn an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of <br />this Council and of any of its conmittees that resulted in such formal action, <br />were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements <br />including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Sectmon 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be sm emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of tnvo-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force in~diately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor; othe~vzse it shall tsXe effect and be in force after the earliest period <br />allo%ved by lmv and exmsting Paragraph (c) of Section 135.09, adopted January <br />1978 shall be and the store is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted: ~ 0! / <br /> ' ,.
