ORDINANCE NO: 96-81 BY: <br /> <br />Brown, Chinnock, <br />Gallagher, Graham, <br />McBride, Satmon,Wendlin§ <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the City Engineer to <br /> advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest and <br />'best bidder after advertisement according to law for the installa- <br /> tion of a new sewer; water main, and pavement on Victoria Avenue <br /> between Madison Avenue and Hilliard Road in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council has determined that the pavement, water <br />main, and sewer on Victoria Avenue Between Madison Avenue and <br />Hilliard Road are badly deteriorated and in urgent need of <br />replacement, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has authorized the preparation of <br />construction drawings and specifications by the Lakewood Engineering <br />Department, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the aforementioned construction drawings and <br />specifications are now on file in the City Engineer's office, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department <br />and for the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare; <br />now, therefore <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1o That the City Engineer be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to advertise for bids and enter into a <br />contract with the lowest and best bidder after advertisement <br />according to law for the installation of a new sewer, water <br />main, and pavement on Victoria Avenue between Madison Avenue <br />and Hilliard Road in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> Section 2~ That the cost of such construction is estimated <br />at $403,500, which funds are to be made available from the Community <br />Development Block Grant Funds in the amount of $340,000 and the Waste- <br />water Sewer Facility Fund in the amount of $63,500° <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise it shall take <br />effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />- Approved: ~~~/ <br /> <br /> <br />
