<br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor for and on behalf of the
<br />City Qf Lakewood to purchase property and accept a deed from the State of Ohio
<br />for property located at 1437 Wayne Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, known as the Lakewood
<br />Armory in the amount of $183,000 less the cost of the appraisal in the amount of
<br />$1,500.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Senate Bill 94 authorized the City to purchase property now
<br />occupied by the Lakewood Armory, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City has engaged the firm of Cragin, Lang, Free & Smythe,
<br />Inc. to conduct an appraisal of the property located at 1437 Wayne Avenue,
<br />Lakewood, Ohio, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the property has been appraised in the amount of $183,000,
<br />which sum is found to be fair and adequate, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to purchase from the
<br />State of Ohio, the property located at 1437 Wayne Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, at the
<br />appraised value of $183,000 less the costs of appraisal in the amount of $1,500,
<br />and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for
<br />the immediate preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare, and for
<br />the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase
<br />property and accept a Deed from the State of Ohio for property located at 1437
<br />Wayne Avenue, in the City of Lakewood, Ohio, known as the Lakewood Armory for
<br />the purchase price of $183,000 less the cost of the appraisal, said cost being
<br />$1,500.

<br /> Section 2. That the costs of the aforementioned purchase shall be
<br />appropriated from the Capital Improvement Fund.
<br />
<br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this
<br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in
<br />an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council
<br />and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in
<br />meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including
<br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.

<br /> Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency
<br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives
<br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall
<br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the
<br />Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period
<br />allowed by law.
