Ordinan, \placed on First Reading 4-15-85 Ord;'nance placed on Second Reading 5-6-85 ORDINANCE NO: 22-85 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gall agher, Graham, Salmon, Wendling AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to supplement the Generel Offenses Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood by enacting new Chapter 505 relating to Animals and Fowl and repealing existing Chapter 505 of said Code. WHEREAS, this Council determines it to be in the best interests of the City to update the City's ordinances relating to Animals and Fowl and codify same as a new Chapter 505 of the General Offenses Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, and WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation ofa municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the General Offenses Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood shall be and the same is herepy supplemented by enacting new Chapter 505 of said Code to read as follows: CHAPTER 505 Animals and Fowl 505·01 ANIMAL WARDEN (a) The Animal Warden shall hold the posi- tion as established by ordinance and shall be appointed by the Director of Public Safety. The Animal Warden shall not be on the classi- fied list of the Division of Police, nor eligible for participation in the Police Pen- sion Fund. (b) It shall be the duty of the Animal Warden, and he shall have the authority, to enforce the provisions of the Codified Ordi- nances of the City. and laws of the State of Ohio relative to the licensing, impounding, boarding and disposition of animals, livestock or poultry within the corporate limits; how- ever no police or other officer of this City, charged with the responsi bil1 ty of enforcing the ordinances öf this City and the laws of this State, shall be relieved of such respon- sibility. (c) The Animal Warden shaJJ, be provided with a badge designating his office, and such other uniform, vehicles and e~uipment necessary to carry out his duties; however, any vehicles used for picking up and im- pounding animals, livestock or paul try shall be clearly marked on both sides with thê fol- lowing: IIAnimal Warden!!. (d) In the exercise of his duties, the Animal Warden is hereby authorized to issue, on a form provided by the City, a citation to
