<br />~: <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 41-85 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br />Graham, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ordinance authorizing and directing the <br />Mayor, on behalf of the City öf Lakewood to accept a job training <br />grant and enter into a contract with the Cuyahoga County Office <br />of Employment and Training Administration under the auspices of <br />the Cuyahoga County Commissioners to provide for youth preemploy- <br />ment and work maturity skills for the Youth Service Office of the <br />Ci ty of Lakewood. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Office of Employment and Training <br />Administration under the auspices of the Cuyahoga County <br />Commissioners has advised the City of its intent to contract with <br />the Lakewood Youth Service for the program year 1985 under Title <br />llA of the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA), and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said contract will be for youth preemployment <br />and work maturitY'skills whereby approximately 75 youths will be <br />served at a cost not to exceed $57,ØS2.ØØ, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency <br />measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public <br />health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that the <br />funds can be made available to the City at the present time; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor for and on hehalfof the <br />City be and he is hereby authorized to accept a job~training <br />grant and enter into a contract with the Office of Empl~yment and <br />Training Administration under the auspices of the Cuyahoga County <br />Commissioners in the approximateamóunt of $57,052.ØØ for a youth <br />preemployment and work maturity skills program for the Youth <br />Service Office of the City. <br /> <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning ahd relating to the passage of <br />this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings <br />open to the pUblic, in compliance with all legal requirements <br />including Section 121.22 of the Ohiö Revised Code. <br /> <br />Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to <br />be an emergency measure for the reasons sta ted in the preamble <br />hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be -in force after the <br />earliest period aliowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: ~ ?
