<br />ORDINANCE NO. 42-85 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br />Graham, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor for and on <br />behalf of the City of Lakewood to accept as a gift to the City of <br />Lakewood the sum of $875.ØØ from the LakewQod-Rocky Ri ver Rotary <br />Foundation. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Lakewood-Rocky River Rotary Foundation has <br />awarded a grant in the ,amount of $875.ØØ to the City of Lakewood <br />for the purpose of supporting Chore Service program operated by <br />the Office on Aging of the City for the benefit of the senior <br />communi ty, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, acceptance of th(~ aforementioned grant will <br />enable the Office on Aging to engage an additional Chore student <br />to provide approximately 261 hours of service to the program, <br />specifically for yard work during the summer and fall months, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, th i s ord inance cons t i tu tes an emergency <br />measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public <br />health and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a <br />municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section L That the Mayor be and he is hereby author- <br />ized and directed to accept as a gift to the City of Lakewood <br />from the Lakewood-Rocky River Rotary Foundation thè sum of <br />$875.Ø0, which funds are to be used specifically by the City for <br />the purpose of supporting the Chore Service Program operated by <br />the Office on Aging for the benefit of the senior community. <br /> <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of <br />this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings <br />open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements <br />inCluding Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br />Section 3. That this ordinance is ,hereby declared to <br />be an emergency ,measure for thereasöns stated in the preamble <br />hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the <br />earliest perioq allowed by law. ~ <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />1 <br />, <br /> <br />11 !
