ORDINANCE NO: <br /> <br />2-87 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br />Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Director <br />of Public Works to enter into an agreement with the Osborn Engineering <br />Company to provide the design and electrical specifications for an <br />emergency stand-by power system for Lakewood City Hall and the Police <br />Department. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an emergency stand-by power system will provide <br />for the uninterrupted daily operation of the Municipal Building and <br />equipment in the event of a disruption of normal electrical service, <br />and should be installed by the City and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to engage <br />professional assistance to prepare the power system, design <br />specifications and supervise the installation of an emergency stand-by <br />power system and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation fo the public health, welfare <br />and safety and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, <br />now, therefore; <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he <br />is hereby directed to enter into an agreement with the Osborn <br />Engineering Company to provide design specifications and supervise <br />the installation of an emergency stand-by power system according <br />with its proposal attached hereto and made a part thereof as Exhibit <br />"A" and to oversee the installation of said equipment at a cost not <br />to exceed $13,000. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of <br />this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of the Council, and <br />that such deliberations of this Council and of any of it committees <br />that such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees <br />that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the <br />public, in compliance with all legal requirements, including Section <br />121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the afirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall <br />take effect and be in force after the earliest~_~eA~i'ofl allowed by <br />1 aw. <br /> <br />Adopted: ~ ~/ <br /> ~r~ident <br /> Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
