ORDINANCE NO. 8-87 <br /> <br /> BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br />Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN 5~ERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor, for and on behalf of <br />the City of Lakewood to accept as a gift to the City of Lakewood the sum of <br />$7,200 from the LakewoodC~]~ission on Aging, Inc. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Rego Supermarkets has awarded a grant in the amount of <br />$7,200 to the Lakewood C~,~&ssion on Aging, Inc. for the purpose of continuing <br />the grocery shopping service of the Department on Aging for the senior citizens <br />of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such grant is to be used specifically to continue the <br />salary of a currently employed van driver part-time for said grocery shopping <br />service, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; nowtherefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and <br />directed to accept as a gift to the City of Iakewood frcm the Lakewood <br />Connlission on Aging, Inc. the sum of $7,200 which funds are to be used <br />specifically by the City to continue the salary of a van driver part-time <br />for a period of one year to assist in the grocery shopping service. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance ~ere <br />adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations <br />of this Council and of any of its cc~nittees that resulted in such formal <br />action were in meetings open to the public, in ccrnpliance with all legal <br />requirements including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That tlqis ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force ~ately upon its adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force <br />after the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br /> <br />
