ORDINANCE NO. 16-87 <br /> <br />BY: Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, McBride, <br /> Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor for and on behalf of the <br />City of Lakewood to accept a grant to the City.of Lakewood in the amount of <br />$4,500 from the Governor's Office of Criminal Justice Services, Bureau of <br />Justice Assistance. <br /> WHEREAS, the Governor's Office of Criminal Justice Services, Bureau <br />of Justice Assistance, has approved and awarded to the Lakewood Crime <br />Prevention Office of the City of Lakewood a grant in the amount of $4,500 <br />to reduce the incidence of crime by offering increased crime prevention <br />services and education, and <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br /> for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and <br /> for the usual dai~y operation of a municipal department; now, therefore. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF 0HI0: <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and <br /> directed to accept a grant for the Crime Prevention Office of the City of <br /> Lakewood in the sum of $4,500 from the Governor's Office of Criminal <br /> Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, for the purpose of providing a <br /> personal property identification program. <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined t.hat att formal actions of <br /> this Council concerning and retating to the passage of this ordinance were <br /> adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that att such deliberations <br /> of this Council and of any of its committees that resutted in such formal <br /> action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with att tegat <br /> requirements including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br /> measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br /> Councit, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption <br /> and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect a~d be in force <br /> after the earliest period attowed by taw. <br /> <br />Adopt ed: ~ m~/ /~.._ <br /> <br /> <br />
