ORDINANCE NO. 26-87 BY: <br /> <br />Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE fixing the compensation of the Probation Officers <br />of the Lakewood Municipal Court and the time and method of payment thereof <br />and repealing Ordinance No. 32-86 adopted April 8, 1986. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Municipal Court Act, Revised Code Section 1901.33 provides <br />that the legislative authority of a municipality shall fix the compensation <br />of probation officers appointed by the Judge of a Municipal Court, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the <br />usual daily operation of a municipal department in that in the interest of <br />public service, welfare and safety, it is necessary to fix the compensation <br />of the said probation officers and direct the time and method of payment <br />thereof; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the compensation of the probation officers of the Lakewood <br />Municipal Court is hereby fixed at the aggregate sum of Twenty-Five <br />Thousand Dollars per annum effective April 1, 1987. <br /> <br />Section 2, That the Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood is hereby <br />authorized and directed to pay said compensation of the probation officers <br />as herein fixed, from the City Treasury in semi-monthly installments or in <br />equal installments every two weeks. <br /> <br />Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adop- <br />tion and approval by the Mayor, and Ordinance No. 32-86 adopted April 8, <br />1986 shall be and is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
