ORDINANCE NO. 63-87 BY: <br /> <br />Gallagher, Graham~ McBride, <br /> Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Mayor <br />ex-officio Director of Public Safety to issue a permit to Brigadoon Gifts <br />at 14813 Madison Avenue, and Geiger's Haberdashery, at 14710 Detroit Avenue, <br />to conduct a sidewalk sale at 14813 Madison Avenue and 14710 Detroit Avenue <br />on Thursday, July 9 and 16; Friday, July 10 and 17; and Saturday, July ll and <br />July 18, 1987, between the hours of lO a.m. and 6 p.m. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That notwithstanding the provision of Section 1667. 17 <br />of the Regional Building Code and the provision of Section 901.18 of the <br />Streets and Public Services Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of <br />Lakewood, the Mayor, as ex-officio Director of Public Safety, be and he is <br />hereby authorized and directed to issue a permit to Brigadoon Gifts, at 14813 <br />Madison Avenue, and Geiger's Haberdashery at 14710 Detroit Avenue, to conduct <br />a sidewalk sale in the City on Thursday, July 9 and 16; Friday, July lO and <br />17; and Saturday, July ll and July 18, 1987, between the hours of lO:O0 a.m. <br />and 6:00 p.m. No more than fifty per cent (50%) of the sidewalk width <br />abutting participating stores shall be occupied by displays, which occupied <br />portion of the sidewalk shall be that portion immediately adjacent to the <br />principal structure. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were <br />adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations <br />of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal <br />action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of all members of <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall~take effec be in force <br />after the earliest period allowed by la~~~ <br /> <br />Approved <br /> <br />CLERK <br /> <br /> <br />
