ORDINANCE NO. 34-88 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Gallagher, Gazzana, George, Graham, <br /> Wendling <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE fixing the compensation of the Probation Officers <br />of the Lakewood Municipal Court and the time and method of payment thereof <br />and repealing Ordinance No. 26-87 adopted April 21, 1987. <br />WHEREAS, the Municipal Court Act, Revised Code Section 1901.33 provides <br />that the legislative authority of a municipality shall fix the compensation <br />of probation officers appointed by the Judge of a Municipal Court, and <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the <br />usual daily operation of a municipal department in that in the interest of <br />public service, welfare and safety, it is necessary to fix the compensation <br />of the said probation officers and direct the time and method of payment <br />thereof; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the compensation of the probation officers of the Lakewood <br /> Municipal Court is hereby fixed at the aggregate sum of Twenty-Six <br /> Thousand Dollars per annum effective April 1, 1988. <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood is hereby <br /> authorized and directed to pay said compensation of the probation officers <br /> as herein fixed, from the City Treasury in semi-monthly installments or in <br /> equal installments every two weeks· <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br /> measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br /> Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adop- <br /> tion and approval by the Mayor, and Ordinance No. 26-87 adopted April 21, <br /> 1987 shall be and is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Cler~ <br /> <br />Approved <br /> <br /> <br />
