ORDINANCE NO. 2-89 '. BY': Brown, Chinnock, Gal.]agher, Gazzana, <br /> George, Graham, Wendling <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE approving a Collective Bargaining <br />Agreement with Western Cuyahoga Lodge #25 Fraternal order of Police, <br />establishing conditions of employment, working conditions and various <br />benefits for 'certain employees of the Department of Public Safety of <br />the City of Lakewood, and authorizing the Mayor to sign said Agreement <br />on behalf of the City. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a prior Collective Bargaining Agreement entered into <br />between the City of Lakewood and Western Cuyahoga Lodge #25, Fraternal <br />order of Police, terminated on December 31, 1988, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, discussions and negotiations have been continued <br />subsequently on behalf of the City with representatives of Lodge #25, <br />Fraternal Order of Police, with respect; to conditions of employment, <br />working conditions, and various benefits for certain employees of the <br />Department of Public Safety of the City of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, agreement has been reached in the course of said <br />discussions and negotiations with respect to the conditions of <br />employment, working conditions and various benefits for certain <br />employees aforementioned, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council determines that it is in the best <br />interest of the City to approve said Collective Bargaining Agreement <br />and authorize the Mayor to sign same on behalf of the City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety <br />and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal <br />department, and for the further reason that it is necessary to approve <br />said Agreement at the earliest possible time; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Collective Bargaining Agreement with <br />Western Cuyahoga Lodge #25, Fraternal Order of Police, and effective <br />for the period of January 1, 1989 to December 31, 1991, an original <br />copy of which is on file in the Office of the Mayor of the City of <br />Lakewood and is made a part hereof as though written fully herein, is <br />hereby adopted, ratified and approved, and the Mayor is hereby <br />authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City of Lakewood to <br />affix his signature thereto. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That all other ordinances or resolutions or parts <br />of ordinances or resolutions which are inconsistent with the <br />provisions of this ordinance and/or the Collective Bargaining <br />Agreement made a part hereof, are hereby repealed as of January 1, <br />1989, to the extent that they pertain to the employees in the <br />bargaining unit covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and are <br />inconsistent with his ordinance, including the Collective Bargaining <br />Agreement referred to herein and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> <br />
