ORDINANCE NO . 3 9 - 9 0 BY: <br /> <br />Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, <br />George, Roth <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE fixing the compensation of the Clerk of <br />the Lakewood Municipal Court, the time and method of payment thereof <br />and repealing Ordinance No. 17-89 adopted April 17, 1989. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Municipal Court Act, Revised Code Section 1901.31 <br />provides that the legislative authority of this municipality shall <br />fix the annual salary of the Clerk of Courts, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Act further provides that the compensation of the <br />Clerk shall be paid three-fifths from the City Treasury and two- <br />fifths from the Treasury of the County in which the City is located, <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department in that <br />in the interest of public service, welfare, and safety, it is <br />necessary to fix the compensation of the Clerk and direct the time <br />and method of payment thereof, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the compensation of the Clerk of the Lakewood <br />Municipal Court is hereby fixed at Forty-Five Thousand Nine Hundred <br />Fifty Dollars per annum ~ffective April 1, 1990. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood <br />is hereby authorized and directed to pay three-fifths ($27,570.00) <br />of the compensation of the Clerk as herein fixed, from the City <br />Treasury in semi-monthly stallments or in equal installments every <br />two weeks. <br /> <br />Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor, and Ordinace No. 17-89 <br />adopted April 17, 1989 and all other ordinances or parts of <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />ordinances inconsistent herewith shall be and hereby <br /> <br />17, l q qev <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
