ORDINANCE NO. 87-90 PLACED ON FIRST READING and REFERRED to FINANCE COMMITTEE on 11/19/'90i~~' BY- Boscia, Gallagher, George, Graham, Roth, Smith AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE approving a Collective Bargaining Agreement with Matron Dispatchers and Ohio Labor Council, Fraternal Order of Police, establishing conditions of employment, working conditions and various benefits for certain employees of the Department of Public Safety of the City of Lakewood, and authorizing the Mayor to sign said Agreement on behalf of the City. WHEREAS, a prior Collective Bargaining Agreement into between the City of Lakewood and Matron Dispatchers terminated on February 28, 1990, and entered Police WHEREAS, discussions and negotiations have been continued subsequent on behalf of the City with representatives of the Matron Dispatchers and the Ohio Labor Council, Fraternal Order of Police, with respect to conditions of employment, working conditions and various benefits for certain employees of the Department of Public Safety of the City of Lakewood, and WHEREAS, an agreement has been reached in the course of said discussions and negotiations with respect to the conditions of employment, working conditions and various benefits for certain employees aforementioned, and WHEREAS, this Council determines that it is in interest of the City to approve said Collective Bargaining and authorize the Mayor to sign same on behalf of the Lakewood, and the best Agreement City of WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and further for the reason that it is necessary to approve said Agreement at the eariest possible time; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Collective/Bargaining Agreement with Matron Dispatchers and Ohio Labor Council, Fraternal Order of Police effective for the period of March 1, 1990, through February 29, 1992, an original copy of which is on file in the Office of the Mayor of the City of Lakewood and is made a part hereof as though written fully herein, is hereby adopted, ratified and approved and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City of Lakewood to affix his signature thereto.. Section 2. That all other ordinances or resolutions or parts of ordinances or resolutions which are inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance and/or the Collective Bargaining Agreement made a part hereof, are hereby repealed as of March 1, 1990, to the extent that they pertain to the employees in the bargaining unit covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and are inconsistent with this ordinance, including the Collective Bargaining Agreement referred to herein and made a part hereof. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements.
