ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />87-90 <br /> <br />PLACED ON FIRST READING and REFERRED to <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE on 11/19/'90i~~' <br /> <br />BY- <br /> <br />Boscia, Gallagher, George, <br />Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE approving a Collective Bargaining <br />Agreement with Matron Dispatchers and Ohio Labor Council, Fraternal <br />Order of Police, establishing conditions of employment, working <br />conditions and various benefits for certain employees of the <br />Department of Public Safety of the City of Lakewood, and authorizing <br />the Mayor to sign said Agreement on behalf of the City. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a prior Collective Bargaining Agreement <br />into between the City of Lakewood and Matron Dispatchers <br />terminated on February 28, 1990, and <br /> <br />entered <br /> Police <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, discussions and negotiations have been continued <br />subsequent on behalf of the City with representatives of the Matron <br />Dispatchers and the Ohio Labor Council, Fraternal Order of Police, <br />with respect to conditions of employment, working conditions and <br />various benefits for certain employees of the Department of Public <br />Safety of the City of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an agreement has been reached in the course of said <br />discussions and negotiations with respect to the conditions of <br />employment, working conditions and various benefits for certain <br />employees aforementioned, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council determines that it is in <br />interest of the City to approve said Collective Bargaining <br />and authorize the Mayor to sign same on behalf of the <br />Lakewood, and <br /> <br />the best <br />Agreement <br /> City of <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety <br />and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal <br />department and further for the reason that it is necessary to approve <br />said Agreement at the eariest possible time; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Collective/Bargaining Agreement with <br />Matron Dispatchers and Ohio Labor Council, Fraternal Order of Police <br />effective for the period of March 1, 1990, through February 29, 1992, <br />an original copy of which is on file in the Office of the Mayor of the <br />City of Lakewood and is made a part hereof as though written fully <br />herein, is hereby adopted, ratified and approved and the Mayor is <br />hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City of <br />Lakewood to affix his signature thereto.. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That all other ordinances or resolutions or <br />parts of ordinances or resolutions which are inconsistent with the <br />provisions of this ordinance and/or the Collective Bargaining <br />Agreement made a part hereof, are hereby repealed as of March 1, 1990, <br />to the extent that they pertain to the employees in the bargaining <br />unit covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and are <br />inconsistent with this ordinance, including the Collective Bargaining <br />Agreement referred to herein and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this <br />ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that <br />all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees <br />that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the <br />public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> <br />
